←PATCH REGISTRY
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 25, 2026
Patch Registry (patchregistry.com) is a community archive of military unit patches.
We collect as little personal information as we can, we don't run ads, and we never
sell your data. This page explains what we do collect and why.
Information you give us
-
Account details. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name,
email address, and profile picture from Google. We use these only to create and
identify your account.
-
Display name. The username you choose is public — it appears next
to your activity on the site.
-
Patch submissions. If you email us a patch, we keep the photos and
story you send so we can review and publish them. You choose how you're credited —
name, callsign, or anonymous.
Information collected automatically
-
Sign-in session. We store an authentication token in your browser's
local storage so you stay signed in. We don't run ads or use advertising cookies; the
analytics tools described below may set their own cookies to measure usage.
-
Basic server logs. The services that host the site keep standard
request logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.
Where your data lives
We use a small number of service providers to run the site:
- Supabase — stores accounts and profiles, and handles sign-in.
- Google — provides the "Sign in with Google" option.
- GitHub Pages and Cloudflare — host and serve the site.
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity — measure how the site is used (see Analytics below).
Each provider processes data only as needed to provide its service.
Analytics
To understand how The Wall is used and make it better, we use two analytics services.
Neither is used for advertising, and we never sell this data.
-
Google Analytics — aggregate usage statistics such as pages viewed,
approximate location, and device and browser type.
-
Microsoft Clarity — aggregated heatmaps and session replays
(recordings of on-page actions like mouse movement, clicks, and scrolling) that help
us find and fix usability problems. Text you type is masked, and we don't use these
recordings to identify you.
Deleting your data
Want your account or a submission removed? Email
thepatchregistry@gmail.com and we'll
delete it. Patches already published can be taken down or re-credited on request.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. Significant changes
will be noted on the site.
