The maintainers had their own patch — and they earned it. While aircrew got the glory, the Det-Y maintenance Marines kept the Prowlers flying in the tropical heat of the Western Pacific. The palm tree and the golden beach say it clearly: somewhere hot, somewhere far from home, making it work.
