USMC EA-6B Prowler community — Marine Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadrons (VMAQ-1/2/3/4), MCAS Cherry Point · USMC · 1977-2019

This community pride patch marries the Marine Corps motto to the Grumman EA-6B Prowler, stacking the Eagle, Globe and Anchor above a four-seat Prowler hung with ALQ-99 jamming pods and, below it, gold Naval Aviator wings. Marine electronic warfare crews flew the type from 1977, when VMAQ-2 received the Corps' first Prowlers at Cherry Point, through campaigns from El Dorado Canyon and Desert Storm to the Balkans, Iraq, and Operation Inherent Resolve — the Marines' only dedicated radar-jamming and standoff electronic attack aircraft. All four VMAQ squadrons were land-based at MCAS Cherry Point yet carrier-capable, often the sole EW asset supporting joint and coalition strike packages. The lineage closed on 8 March 2019, when the "Death Jesters" of VMAQ-2 stood down and the Prowler retired after 48 years of service.
